Nate Stafiej

Crane Mechanical Manager

Key Responsibilities

My position at DP World Vancouver is Crane Mechanical Manager.  I manage the crane mechanical department and the maintenance locker.  My key responsibilities (it’s a long list) is to ensure the timely and efficient maintenance and repairs of the 7 ship to shore cranes and 19 RTGs, while ensuring safety is followed by all departments.

Length of Employment

I have been with the company 19 months.

What do you enjoy most about working at DP World?

What I enjoy the most about working here is the constant workload, positive personnel, and enjoying the small daily successes of completing tasks as a team.

Pamela Ellison

Nanaimo Terminal Manager

Key Responsibilities

Managing and growing operations at Duke Point, providing a safe, efficient, profitable work place and providing the tools for our team to succeed while meeting corporate and regulatory guidelines.

Length of Employment

Started at Centerm in 2003 as HSE Manager (Health, Safety & Environment).  In 2005 became Regional Director HSE, and in 2012 started at Duke Point in the Operations role.

What do you enjoy most about working at DP World?

Love the company in general; have been very blessed to work with great people since starting in 2003.  I feel what you put out, you get back in spades and I have most definitely experienced that.  As for what I love most about working for DP World Nanaimo, without a doubt, the people who work here at Duke Point.  Being a part of building this terminal from the ground up with a team of people who care so deeply about its success makes it a joy to come to work.

Jamison Prystay

Shift Manager

Key Responsibilities

I’m responsible for day-to-day Operations at the terminal. We’re the first point of contact for the Foremen and Planners and we work directly with our Vessel Partners and CN to ensure prompt service for our customers. As Shift Managers, we are often the first on the scene helping to resolve any safety concerns brought to us out in the Yard and we are always looking for ways to improve the overall safety of our workplace.

Length of Employment

I’ve been working at the terminal since May of 2014 – five and a half years!

What do you enjoy most about working at DP World?

The work is very challenging and fast-paced – extremely rewarding both on a shift by shift basis, and because of our long term goals. Being a Ruperite by birth, I was very eager to return home and be a part of our growing terminal that was, in turn, helping to re-grow our community. It’s great coming to work alongside old friends, sharing in our successes, and having the opportunity to start our own families in our hometown.
