New Quay Crane Delivery & Erection
Community Notice
Please be advised that the DP World Vancouver (Centerm) terminal will be receiving delivery of a new ZPMC Super Post-Panamax quay crane as part of its ongoing investment in modern container handling equipment. The ZPMC Super Post-Panamax quay crane will be transported to the terminal on a vessel and off-loaded and erected during the terminals standard operating hours.
This new equipment will improve the overall reliability and performance of the current fleet of cranes. The investment will also allow DP World Vancouver to meet market demand, by enabling it to service newer vessels.
Delivery & Erection Work Hours:
As you are aware, the Centerm container terminal operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Delivery of the new crane is expected during the third week of February. Work directly related to off-loading and erecting the crane is scheduled to occur between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. The off-load phase will take 4 days, and it will take an additional 6 days to raise the crane into position. No uniquely identifiable noise or light associated with the delivery, installation or operation of the crane are expected. The adjacent community’s current sound and light levels will not be impacted.
